Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, visited Tavush Province to get acquainted with the consequences of the fires that occurred in the “Dilijan” National Park and adjacent areas in recent days.
The Minister, together with representatives of the Eco-Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RA, the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RA and community leaders, inspected the situation and assessed the environmental impact of the fires.
Minister Matevosyan thanked all the employees involved in the firefighting operations for their responsible and dedicated work. He urged citizens to be more vigilant, to comply with fire safety rules, and to respond strictly to any violations.
The Minister instructed those responsible for managing specially protected nature areas to strengthen awareness and explanatory work among the population in order to further increase the effectiveness of prevention measures.
“In addition to the need for strict compliance with fire prevention rules, we are facing another important problem: as a result of forest fires, many wild animals have left their natural habitat and may appear near communities or residential areas,” noted Minister Matevosyan.
Dear citizens, in such cases, we ask you to immediately contact the relevant services to ensure the safety of both people and animals.
The Minister also visited the operational response headquarters created for firefighting operations.
The listed problems will be resolved as soon as possible.
